An Israeli submarine has rescued a swimmer off the coast of Haifa.
FIVE miles off the coast to be exact.
The Israeli navy said on Wednesday that one of its submarines had rescued the swimmer.
A military spokesman said that the submarine was engaged in a routine patrol off the Israeli port city of Haifa when crew members noticed the swimmer. The armed forces said that the man was “exhausted and weak”.
Reminds me of the glory days of World War II, when one of the important functions of US submarines (besides sinking everything they saw) was rescuing presidents pilots shot out of the sky.
